Bermuda Sans is a work-in-progress typeface that got its start from a logotype drawn for Bermuda Helsinki initiative. It combines hints from vernacular and art deco lettering found in the buildings of Helsinki.
Its first version was shortlisted in Grafia’s The Best of Finnish Advertising and Design as early as in 2012.
Sharp-cut terminals, arc-shaped quirks and somewhat loose spacing give the font its personality. Few well-justified opentype features – like alternative letter “a” and old-style numbers – are in the making.
